The Pakistani wedding, that was actually very international, of #AnushMunib rocked our lives (and dreams) a few weeks back. Just in case you were living under a rock, here’s a quick recap:

Yes, that’s Istanbul in the background. Yes this shaadi did go to Turkey.

It’s safe to say there was lots of glitz, shimmer and shine. 

We thought we at MangoBaaz were obsessed over #AnushMunib and their crazy shaadi, but there were bigger fans out there. We got our hands on a group of friends who went about estimating the cost of JUST Anush’s dresses, and the number is BIG!

The question is, are you ready to see this?

All these dresses cost a jaw dropping, mind boggling and heart-attack-inducing 20,737,795 PKR

Oh wait, GST nahin lagaya.

All the dresses actually cost 23,633,602 PKR

These were the highest earning individual designers:

Bunto Kazmi who raked in a total of 2.5 Million PKR.

While Bunto had to make 2 dresses to make that much, Faraz Manan did the same in JUST ONE JORA! Talk about the male-female wage gap. Poor Bunto!

The winner however is Elie Saab with 5.35 Million PKR.

Oh btw, do you see that little hot air balloon Judith Lieber clutch Anush is holding? It cost around half a million PKR. Arey mujhe ye paisay de deti, mei dunya aik hot air balloon mein ghoom leta.

 

We did some further digging and this is what the rest of the wedding probably cost:

Assuming that Anush and her family just paid for themselves to fly to Turkey in Business Class, the approximate cost is about 900,000 PKR. (But who’re we kidding, they must’ve paid for her phuphos, chachas, cousins, mom’s committee friends, friends of friends, and neighbor’s khala‘s saa’s, bhabi’s dewar too. Bas humein nahi le kar gae :'(

Now the hotel stay, if Instagram is anything to go by, they party stayed there for about 4 days. This equals about 129,275 PKR per room for 4 nights. Wowza! Little birdies chirping around us say they booked the Çırağan Palace, Kempinski, Istanbul exclusively for the wedding party, so that ought to cost more than just a measly little 130,000 PKR. The Kempinski, Istanbul is the 14th most expensive hotel in the world, just btw.

This is what the wedding probably costs in total:

Add the bride’s estimated cost of dresses (23,633,602), the family’s tickets to Istanbul (900,000) and the hotel costs (129,275/per room for 313 rooms for 4 nights =161,852,300 at least), and the grand total of having the longest wedding in Pakistan comes up to:

186,385,902 PKR

So basically to just wear what Anush wore, you’ll have to splurge close to 20 MILLION PKR at the very least, and that is without makeup and jewelry. This is so many money my head’s spinning just at the thought of it. Shaadi na hi karay bunda.

And Anush and Munib, we wish you a happily married life. Humari duaein aap ke sath hain, bas aur jealous na karao yaar.
