Ever since Pakistan has received news that Malala has finally returned home after six long years, people can’t contain their excitement. Accompanied by her parents, the twenty-year-old will reportedly be staying in Pakistan until April 2nd. She is expected to meet the Prime Minister and attend events to discuss prospects of promoting education in under-developed areas of the country.

Malala addressed the public this morning with an emotional speech, “I can’t believe that I have returned to my homeland” she said before bursting into tears.

She thanked her Pakistani doctors for the treatments that saved her life and almost started justifying why she has chosen to reside in the United Kingdom. “Hamesha yehi khaab tha ke mein Pakistan wapis jaoun, aman se, aur bina kisi khauf ke” she stated at the Prime Minister’s office this morning.

Pakistanis took to social media to welcome the youngest Nobel laureate with warm words.

She has definitely made us very proud, despite the tremendous backlash she has constantly received.

It is incredibly valiant for her to choose to come home, after her traumatic experiences in the country.

She’s seen here, happy to be back in her homeland.

Most agreed that she’s the pride of Pakistan.

We cannot possibly imagine what she must have felt when she landed in Pakistan after six years.

She has defintely defeated her enemies.

Pakistanis should come together to celebrate Malala’s accomplishments rather than tear her down.

Unfortunately, there will always be the ones who choose to hate.
