So Swara Bhasker and her statement about Pakistan have been the hot topic over this past weekend. So far there was no response from Swara’s end, however, late last night we tweeted out in an attempt (?) to clear things out.
She started with a clear distinction between what she said and how she actually feels
Thanks Anshul! there should we a distinction between States/ govts of a country & the people of that country. My regard for & goodwill towards the people of #Pakistan remains unchanged. Some of my closest friends are Pakistani. Lahore remains one of my soul cities. ❤️❤️💕💕 https://t.co/JHImDSnwKU

Swara also tweeted this picture and then tried to take it in her stride
She owned her status as the possible unifying factor between the two countries
Looks like Indo-Pak peace is on the horizon! 🙈🙈🙈✌🏾✌🏾✌🏾✌🏾💕💕💕💕💕 #DushmanKaDushmanDost pic.twitter.com/sq4foSDhFc

She ended by wishing ‘peace and love’ between the two countries
🙈🙈🙈🙈 Dushman ka dushman Dost!!! I’m totally okay with with being the dushman in this case if it brings some dosti to us bickering neighbours 🙂 🙂 Peace and love guys! ❤️ https://t.co/Fz82K6Wj9b

Umm, so yeah, THAT was weird!
Obviously, people did NOT buy it

People were not willing to let this opportunity go

Even Indians were on her case about this
Hmmm witty reply or you could just be a bit mature about it and apologize to our neighbours for the insensitive statement you made about them.. not too much to do. If I were your PR manager I would definitely reccomend an apology as the best way to go about it. @MediaRaindrop

People saw right through her ‘efforts’
Nice cover-up….but it’s not gonna work.

Plans were made to move her to Bangladesh
Ahh tough time babe. It's ok. We know nobody loves you. You have been disowned by both countries. We shall pass you to Bangladesh, There are already 100s of rivers. You can cry one more @Saffronnation @RathiSumant pic.twitter.com/KfujogtJAh

This guy felt sorry for the ‘bechaari’ actress
Guys go easy on @ReallySwara , the poor girl hardly gets a film as a sidekick (Only because she will be used for making adult jokes, which no other girl with honor will do) and that too get banned, becahri ki rozi roti ka sawal hai

But in the end, we all just want it to stop now
You haven’t learnt anything yet, swara bhaskar ab bas kar.

Clearly, Swara is trying to cover up and take the hatred in her ‘stride’. Not sure if this was the best way for her to deal with this, but heck she still did it. You can’t call a country a ‘failing state’ and then expect people to NOT be hurt or to accept the argument that you’re JUST attacking the government.
What do you think about this entire debacle and Swara’s comments? Let us know 🙂
