It’s been a while since we got to see Salman Khan shine as the emblem for Bollywood’s most romantic songs, especially after he was mostly known to have mimed along to voices like Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Atif Aslam in a large chunk of his films. After the debacle that unfolded between India and Pakistan following the Pulwama attacks, our Pakistani musicians were cut from Bollywood entirely. It reached an unnerving pinnacle where songs Atif Aslam had recorded for a Bollywood film were replaced and rerecorded with an Indian playback singer instead.
In a recent interview, Atif Aslam responded to T Series taking down all Bollywood songs sung by Pakistani artists.
“It happens. I don’t know. I think I’m really loved over there (India) by fans. Border-ban has appeared often but I personally don’t know the reason for this – why I was taken off and was back on YouTube. The fan following in Pakistan and India is huge, which is perhaps gauged by the numbers. I feel it is the response of the fans.
We all recall the time Salman was known as the mushy romantic hero who gave us passionate ballads to swoon over like ‘Tere Naam,’ to ‘Tere Mast Mast Do Nain.’ After ‘Dil Diyan Gallan,’ it had been a while since we got to witness Salman in all his glory as the ultimate romantic hero, but with his new film, it’s safe to say that he’s BACK – unfortunately minus the vocals of Atif Aslam or Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
After ‘Tiger Zinda Hai,’ Katrina and Sallu bhai are back with ‘Chashni’ – the first song to drop from Salman’s highly anticipated ‘Bharat.’
The song is truly an homage to Salman’s way of immortalizing every song he acts out – and although it really is quite perfect, the missing factor is undeniably the soulful voice of Atif or Rahat jee.
There really isn’t anything quite like watching two absolute beauties like Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan weave together undeniable magic when they’re on-screen.
The visuals are breathtaking and sprawled across beautiful landscapes with both Katrina and Salman decked in gorgeous attire
Katrina’s sporting fresh curls for her role, and my goodness does she look heavenly!
Sallu bhai fans have fallen in love with the song, and honestly it’s so achingly wonderful we can see why!

We agree! If only Atif or Rahat sang this beautiful little gem!
Can’t help but feel that #Chashni should have been sung by #AtifAslam or #ArijitSingh. One needs to put aside politics – both foreign and personal – for the better quality of a product. Still no #DilDiyanGallan, although #KatrinaKaif looks great! https://t.co/gQXML5qSr3
