As many of you know, Aladdin, the live-action movie, is hitting theatres v soon.
Of course, for many of us, it is a bit of a bittersweet welcome. Aladdin is one of the core Disney movies we all used to pop into the VCR growing up as kids. It’s not just another Frozen or Tangled, Aladdin is sacred OG Disney. Will Smith is literally the best but replacing Robin Williams as Genie? Uff, now those are big shoes to fill. So as you can imagine, the movie started making headlines before it even went into production.
People were pissed over casting,

And the fact that this was the first trailer to the movie.
Yeah, weak.
So far it’s hard to tell whether or not the world is excited about this film or absolutely dreading its release. And it seems one pseudo-Pakistani, Jeremey McLellan, is particularly not happy about the latest clip release.
‘Aladdin’ just released a new clip from the movie and comedian Jeremy McLellan is not happy about it.
If I say the Ayat al-Kursi will this go away https://t.co/3eIE1xMszP

Oh, snap.
McLellan, for those of you who don’t know, is a prized Pakistani foreign obsession. A stand up-comedian turned basically honorary citizen, Jeremy McLellan is also an official ‘Pindi Boy Ambassador.’ After a trip or so to Pakistan, McLellan has won the hearts of many all over the country with his keen sense of what Pakistanis love and cherish. Cricket and Mangoes. Apart from that, his consistent commentary on Pakistani goings-on is always super spot on pretty hilarious.
SO! No surprise Jeremy had something to say about Aladdin and also no surprise that Pakistanis agreed with him.

I mean, look. I LOVE Aladdin. I love everything it teaches and the songs and the entire world created in the enchanted city of Agrabah. But honestly, wtf was that. The effects were nowhere near what I thought they were going to be and don’t hate me but Will Smith was definitely off key for most of that song.
Also, WHO IS THAT CHARACTER TALKING TO JASMINE?
That was NOT in the original and adding another CHARACTER? WTF?
Anyway, though Jeremy was on to something with the Ayat-ul-Kursi plan, let’s hope that the final film will be enough to fall in love with the 2019 version of Aladdin.
Have you seen the clip? Watch it here!
