BTS announced a concert in Saudi Arabia and Muslim ARMYs are losing it.

BTS is currently touring the world on their Love Yourself Speak Yourself stadium tour. They have so far covered the United States and Europe and are now on the Asian leg of the tour. And yesterday, they announced that they would be taking the tour to Saudi Arabia in October!

And of course, Arab BTS ARMYs lost their minds collectively because no one ever imagined that BTS would add a stop in Saudi Arabia on their tour.

As soon as the announcement was made, Muslim ARMYs, specifically those living in Saudi Arabia, went insane.

And Saudi fans are already making hilarious jokes about the boys’ upcoming visit to their country.

However, after the recent outcry against artists performing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which led to Nicki Minaj canceling her headliner spot at the Jeddah World Fest, a lot of people were outraged at BTS for performing in Saudia Arabia.

People were criticizing the boys for being hypocritical; performing in a country that does not grant equal rights to LGBTQ+ citizens as well as other alleged human rights violations. Most of the ire, of course, is directed towards the leadership of the country.

However, it must be noted that the concert is not being organized by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is an independent stadium tour, while Nicki Minaj received backlash for performing at a festival which was being funded by Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.

Of course, this doesn’t change the fact that the allegations against Saudi Arabia stand. But the question arises: is it fair to want BTS to cancel their concert in Saudi Arabia because the leader and certain laws are problematic? Must Saudi ARMYs suffer due to it?

Perhaps trying to deprive Saudi ARMYs of witnessing a concert by their beloved idols isn’t ideal.

P.S: the Saudi Arabia government has a special visa for those attending concerts in the Kingdom. You can directly apply for the visa immediately after purchasing tickets on their official website and it takes only a few minutes!
