‘Heer Maan Ja’s’ title track is undeniably catchy and might just be a popular shaadi anthem.
Hareem Farooq’s productional venture ‘Heer Maan Ja’ co-stars Ali Rehman Khan once more after ‘Parchi.’ Friends in real life, the on-screen pairing is always fun to watch owing to their effortless chemistry. The film will be releasing alongside ‘Superstar’ and ‘Parey Hut Love’ during the Eid weekend making the Pakistani audience spoilt for choice. The film is boasting a quirky, fun storyline with drama, action and romance, in equal parts.
‘Heer Maan Ja’s’ title track just dropped and it’s undeniably catchy and will serve a popular shaadi go-to.
The music video stars Hareem Farooq, Ali Rehman Khan and Faizan Sheikh in a dimly lit setting with a neon backdrop.
The video, to its’ credit, boasts a largely psychedelic vibe with many ‘trippy’ moments
It is truly a visual treat at first and you can’t help humming to the tune
The neon-disco completely translates with the high-adrenaline dance moves
Kudos to Osman Khalid Butt for the banger moves (can predict a lot of mehndis this shaadi season adding the song to their arsenal)
However, eventually, the visuals tend to fall short at times and don’t necessarily mingle well with the choreography. Again, the catchy track does combat this quite a bit.
At times, it does seem that Hareem’s outfits are a mismatch
If it’s a neon club, why are we dressed as a Greek goddess?
And the patiala with shimmer combo is a bit off-putting, too. (Hareem obvs pulls it off but, still)
All the elements seem fine on their own, don’t get me wrong. Perhaps, it’s the strange amalgamation that makes this a confusing watch.
Additionally, Hareem’s earnest attempt to dance to very sharp moves along with her two male co-stars (molded by Osman Khalid Butt and Faizan Uddin) is truly laudable.
Here’s the entire title track, for your viewing pleasure:
I, of course, have my own thoughts when it comes to this, but let me know if yours differ.
