The gaming scene in Pakistan had always been exciting. But, with recent developments of Pakistanis just generally acing in the gaming world, the gaming community has started to gain all the right kind of attention.
This weekend we had the chance to visit one of the coolest gaming arenas ever: The Mountain Dew Gaming Arena.
And we’re absolutely not lying when we say that it was the biggest and most intense gaming showdown ever!
Happening at the Expo Center Lahore, the event was attended by over 7500 people! How cool is that? Just so exciting to see the gaming community rise, day by day!
At the event, called in gamers of CS:GO and DOTA 2 from all over Pakistan and the qualifying teams that made it into the final round were witnessed live at this event.
And TBH, we also battled it out for a few because what’s even the point of you being in a gaming arena if you don’t play a round?
After the battles, came the prizes. The teams fought boldly and fearlessly for the coveted trophy and the Rs.1 Million prize pool per game!
Isn’t that AWESOME?

But you know what got us even more hyped? We bumped into Junejo!!
And Ducky Bhai!!!
Apart from them, big names of the industry like Mikaal Zulfiqar, Ushna Shah and Kinza Razzaq were seen at the event showing their enthusiasm for gaming and congratulating the teams.
There was something for everyone who came to the event.
VR, PS, Kinetic and even old school Arcade games had their setups around the venue for everyone to play and enjoy.
Just when you think this is all it was about, let us tell you that it had so much more in store: INCREDIBLE MUSIC PERFORMANCES!
Rindanum (a drum act), Fake Shamans, Pepsi Battle of the Bands winner AUJ and Ali Azmat, the pioneer of Pakistan’s music industry, rocked the arena and raised the heartbeats of the crowd. These pumping performances left everyone wanting more.
The Championship helped the gaming community discover the best teams of Dota 2 and CS:GO! Gaming Hub were crowned as the 1 million rupees winning team for CS:GO, while Recreational Hazard were crowned as the 1 million rupees winning team for DOTA2. Team Bablu, the Winners of PubG, were also awarded Rs 1 Million. This was not just a win for the teams, but a historical moment for gaming in Pakistan, for the second time in a row.
But all in all, thanks to Mountain Dew, Samsung and ESL, the gaming world of Pakistan has reached a whole new level. Mountain Dew came through on its promise! Bringing us bigger and bolder platforms every year, and we can’t wait to see what Mountain Dew will do next!
