Social distancing ‘Jeeto Pakistan?’ This I gotta see.
”Ek dum se waqt badal diye. Jazbaat badal diye. Zindagi badal di”. Momin Saqib’s viral rant has suddenly become super relevant to the Coronavirus crisis we are facing right now. Social distancing is the new normal, and everybody is pretty much trying to adapt to it.
Even game shows like Jeeto Pakistan kinda realized the gravity of the situation. But instead of shutting down the show that basically operates with an audience, Jeeto Pakistan came up with a brand new idea to let people play within the safety of their homes.
Fahad Mustafa announced the ”Jeeto Pakistan League (JPL)” in which 5 teams from 5 cities would be taking part, all with celebrity captains!
Humayun Saeed is the captain of Karachi Lions. Adnan Siddiqui is the captain of Lahore Falcons. (Yes, both of them MPTH fans). Peshawar Stallions has Shaista Lodhi as their captain and Islamabad Dragons have Sana Javed. Lastly, Sarfaraz Ahmed is the captain of the Quetta Knights! So, in case you were missing the unfinished PSL, this might be a great watch for you.
Here’s the teaser:
Fahad announced that it’s Quetta Knights vs Islamabad Dragons I the recent episode, although all the celebrity captains were there…in different corners.
He explained the rules that both of the teams would have ten small games. Each winning team would get 5 points for each game. The contestants playing alongside would earn the respective gifts. And for the bigger games, the more you score, the greater your chances to qualify for finals. Viewers at home can participate via text messages. And the bigger reward? Jeeto Pakistan would conduct shows in the winning city after we’re done with the pandemic.
The competing captains called their contestants to commence the games
For each game, a new contestant was called. Jeeto Pakistan kinda followed the SOPs, I guess? Everyone maintained a safe distance and was constantly sanitizing. The contestants wore gloves. Also, Fahad rode the motorbike all alone!
The scoreboard was being updated simultaneously
The rest of the team captains were trying their best to confuse the competing teams
Everything is fair in love and leagues, right?
The ”Baat Banti Hai” segment was thrilling. My heart was yearning for all the gold Islamabad Dragons lost
To deal or not to deal?
Our beloved Ahmed Shah also made a royal appearance with the ”treasure box”
Adorbs.
The final result? Islamabad defeated Quetta in the first match!
You can watch the entire episode over here:
I didn’t think I would say this, but I actually kinda enjoyed the funny exchanges and sniggers between the captains. Also, the team at Jeeto Pakistan is kinda doing their best to deliver the promised entertainment, while sorta being Corona-compliant. So, props to them I suppose.
