A few days ago Pakistani soap actor Hasan Khan made claims that he is all set to play deceased Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput in an upcoming web series. Confident in his claim, he even shared that the web series will be hosted on streaming giant Amazon Prime. Consequently, there was social media uproar with many challenging the credibility of his claim. Soon after the news was picked up by many publications on both sides of the border, Amazon denied any association with the so-called project.

Two months into his death, Sushant Singh Rajput’s case is still on-going with no clear indication whether it was suicide or murder. The credibility of these claims is also questionable, as no one can make a biopic on the deceased without getting permission from his family. And it is highly unlikely that they would be on-board something like this, at least right now.

Sushant’s death sent ripples through Bollywood, exposing the rampant nepotism in the industry. Their uproar in unison was recently witnessed with Alia Bhatt’s ‘Sadak‘ trailer getting over 10 million dislikes on YouTube. In light of such sensitive circumstances, Hasan continuously using Sushant’s name is disturbing, to say the least.

Who is really behind this so-called biopic that Hasan Khan claims to be a part of?

Though Amazon Prime has point-blank denied association with the series, Hasan continues to stick with his claims with slight alterations. According to the statement he gave to Galaxy Lollywood, the project is in fact a short film that was going to be streamed on the streaming giant. However, after the reaction from Sushant’s fans, Amazon backed out. Now the film will be streamed on the producer’s own YouTube channel, ‘Imperfect Movies’.

If you look up Imperfect Movies, it is indeed a YouTube channel with two short films already up. Interestingly enough, both star Pakistani actors like Kinza Hashmi, but no one has seemingly heard about these movies up until now.

With so many questioning this move already, it didn’t end there

The actor went ahead and uploaded some disturbing BTS from the project which supposedly replicates Sushant’s death. Not only did this upset the actors’ fans, but it also upset netizens in general. The post is extremely unethical and irresponsible on the part of the actor.

Many fans are outraged by this and they are demanding action against Hasan Khan.

Actors should be very calculated with their statements, especially when speaking at the international level. The move doesn’t bode well in the context of already strained relations between the two industries. What’s your take on this?
