President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi, often takes to Twitter to inform his followers of his personal thoughts.

This includes posting about new movies and articles that he has seen and read. This time, he posted about watching the famous sci-fi movie “Interstellar”, along with appreciating it for its accurate scientific portrayal and recommending it to his followers.

Like always, he interacted with people in the replies under his tweets.

Somehow, the infamous R-rated movie “50 Shades of Grey” came up…

The movie was banned from screening in multiple countries when it came out in 2015 for its extremely graphic sexual content as well as being a taboo topic in many places.

The tweet was quickly deleted but not before Twitter netizens took screenshots…and also went into shock.

Of course, the trolls came out in full force to talk about Dr. Arif Alvi and his tweet

Some Twitter users were quick to point out that the President self-trolled, while others were just happy to bring out their troll guns with full artillery.

And of course, politics had to become a part of this Arif Alvi 50 Shades of Gray saga

It was pointed out that the president of a country should at least Google before replying to unknown requests, and low key makes sense, don’t you think?

Despite the backlash, let’s not pretend like we don’t know that ever since the movie was made available on Netflix, it’s been a top trend in Pakistan. Anyway, do you think the president deserves the backlash he is getting, or are the people being too mean?
