1. Wash your face regularly

If you struggle with acne, it is very important to wash your face twice a day. This will wash away dirt, bacteria, and any kind of impurity from your skin. It’s always important to ask your doctor or visit a dermatologist before using any kind of chemicals or medications on your skin. There are many over the counter products you can buy with ingredients that help shrink pimples such as benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid.6. Don’t touch your face too much

Mobile devices are one of the newest causes of acne breakouts. Dirt and grime from your filthy fingers collect onto your phone screen and can seep into your face every time you talk on the phone. Your makeup rubs off onto your phone and is transferred back onto your face. (GROSS!) To prevent acne and bacteria, clean your phone screen every night or every other night with an antibacterial wipe.

9. Moisturize

An important step that some people with oily or acne prone skin often skip is moisturizing. Whether you have dry, oily, or combination skin – it is very important to use a moisturizer. Acne products tend to dry out the skin so use a moisturizer that works best for your skin type.

10. Stay out of the sun whenever you can

The sun’s ultraviolet rays can increase inflammation and cause redness and patchy skin. Sun exposure can also cause post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation and discoloration. Some acne products may make your skin more sensitive to sunlight as well.

11. Follow a healthy diet

It’s important to consume healthy foods like fruits and vegetables that promote collagen production.

12. Get enough sleep

Sleep is when the body’s hydration re-balances. While sleeping, skin is able to recover moisture that it might have lost during the day. Not getting enough sleep leads to poor water balance which results in bad skin.

13. Drink WATER

Drinking water is an easy and very affordable method to keep your skin from breaking out by hydrating your skin and flushing out harmful toxins from your body. You should consume at least 8 glasses a day to keep your skin glowing and clear.

14. Exercise

By increasing your blood flow, exercise assists in nourishing your skin and keeps your cells in vital condition. Exercising also provides oxygen, blood flow and helps carry out waste products from cells.

15. Stop smoking
