The movie, directed by Alia’s father, Mahesh Bhatt, also features Alia’s step sister, Pooja Bhatt, alongside Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapur.

According to official stats, within a day of its release, the trailer has had the highest dislike ratio with 7 million dislikes (at the time of posting this) and only about 376,000 likes. The Alia Bhatt starrer “Sadak 2” is planned to release on 28th August and is said to be a sequel of the film Sadak which was produced by Mahesh Bhatt in 1991

The original was a huge hit but this sequel has been dogged with controversy ever since the nepotism debate in India has picked up steam, yet again, after the passing of Sushant Singh Rajput. The fact that the movie is directed by Alia’s father, stars her step-sister and two actors who are both from families in the movie business has not sit well with some fans.

Before the release of the trailer, several social media campaigns were conducted by the fans of Sushant Singh Rajput to troll the “Sadak 2” trailer

They asserted that nepotism ingrained in Bollywood should be eliminated and disliking Alia Bhatt starrer “Sadak 2” trailer is a way of expressing solidarity with the ones who have been affected by nepotism in Bollywood

A lot of them urged other Indian audience that all the products which are promoted by Alia Bhatt and her movie “Sadak 2” should be boycotted

Fans of Sushant Singh Rajput even went as far as to say that this way they are fighting nepotism and paying a tribute to the late actor by disliking this trailer

A few even wanted the Indian judiciary to intervene to address nepotism in Bollywood and by giving justice to Sushant Singh Rajput
