According to British news publication ‘The Sun,’ (which by the way, is one of the most tabloidy newspapers in the U.K., if not THE most), Boxer Amir Khan had an affair with a beautician in London after the birth of his second child.
This was the headline published by ‘The Sun,’ coining the name ‘King Rat’ for Amir, who ‘bed beautician Sophia Hammani’
Don’t be alarmed by the harsh phrasing, this is very typical tabloid-esque ‘The Sun’ jargon. Allegedly, the newspaper confronted Sophia who stated that she had a “one night stand” with the boxer, not realizing he was still married.
News of these allegations spread from ‘The Sun’s’ interview with Sophia, who also said that she spent the night with the ‘sleazy boxer in his hotel room,’ before referring to him as a “f****** a**hole”
The 22-year-old beautician then claimed that Amir had left behind 20 pounds (around 3000 Rs) for a taxi back to her home. She realized after their alleged one night stand that he, in fact, was STILL married to Faryal and that they had given birth to their second child.
Sophia exclusively told ‘The Sun’ that after she found out he was still a married man, she “nearly threw up when [she] saw they were still together and stated that she “felt so used”
Amir Khan responded to the accusations on social media, denying all allegations and claiming them to be ‘total nonsense’
The boxer claimed she was ‘wanting a pic but was told to leave by security’ as she was drunk. He went on to state that that could be the possible reason for her selling the story, before sarcastically and correctly pointing out that there were ‘no photos of [them] together.’ With reference to the ’20 quid,’ his remark (which wasn’t too necessary tbh) referred to how much she might be worth.
Amir’s response slightly divided the internet, with many urging him to sue the newspaper if the rumors really were false
And others not buying his side of the story
With a few pointing out his casual comment about her being worth 20 pounds
Many took his side and deemed the newspaper as incredibly questionable, with a very poor reputation
With a few supporting the star
What are your thoughts on Amir’s response?
