Found in the immediate outskirts of Islamabad, the Golra Sharif Railway Museum is a heritage site attached to an active railway station by the same name. The Golra Railway Museum’s existence alone should have raked in culture-starved Islooites when it first opened in 2003, but there are a couple problems that the Golra Museum needs to address if the site is to go BIG like other culture-hotspots in the capital.
1. To begin with, the place is such a drag.
Especially the name.
2. Who would want to hang out around these 100-year-old Banyan trees?
Like, they’re not pretty at all, are they?
3. Or take artsy fartsy photos on an active railway track?
4. The Golra Sharif Railway Museum is CLEARLY a terrible place for an impromptu photo sesh.
5. Victorian architecture you toh bara-e-naam hi hai.
6. You will definitely not find artifacts from 150 years of Undivided India.
7. What a snoozefest. Right?
8. You can NOT take bae to a romantic secluded spot at the Museum for a ‘uniqie’ date.
9. …where you can Chal Chaiyya Chaiyya to your hearts’ content…
10. …on an ACTUAL train no less.
11. Seriously tho, be careful, there’s a police chowki nearby and we all know how helpful our police force is.
12. Guys! The Golra Railway Museum is not a cool hang. Here is some boring old hunting gear from yesteryear that would certainly look ugly if you take a dp with them. Yawwwwn.
13. Trust me.
14. I know.
15. Blegh.
You’ll need to see some beautiful Pindi boys on the metro bus or Centauraus to get the horrible images of the Golra Sharif Railway Museum out of your mind.
