Bin Roye has globally released with mixed reviews and some controversy over its ban in the Indian state of Maharashtra. The decision to not screen the film came as a result of pressure from India’s political party, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS).
Here is what one Indian critic had to say about this decision.
The political party has threatened to vandalize any theaters that screen the movie in their state. MNS felt that Pakistan has been sponsoring terror attacks on the country, particularly in Maharashtra. They have also pointed out that Indians soldiers were being killed on the border.
Pakistani film 'Bin Roye' has just been banned by Maharashtra State in India. Rest of India it opens on Fri.

One of the party leader stated, “Pakistan does not allow Indian artists to work in Pakistan.”
If Q Mobile had its way, they’d only show Indian celebrities in their ads. People are anxiously waiting for a Katrina ad.

Naseerudin Shah has already worked in 2 Pakistani movies.

The list can go on but it won’t help solve MNS’ absurdity. Pakistan too has banned some Indian movies in the past but a movie like Bin Roye has no anti-India element. It’s a simple love story of how a girl finds love.
This isn’t the first time MNS has done something like this.
They asked Asha Bhosle to not sing with Pakistani singer in concerts in Maharstra.

Someone please tell these idiots that music has no boundaries.
They also asked Adnan Sami to leave India.

We don’t recognize this guy. The Adnan that left our country was round and cute.
Regardless of MNS’ move, Bhajrangi Bhaijaan should still keep on playing all over Pakistan. Media should not have any boundaries. What do you think?

Some people from the Pakistani movie industry want Indian films to get banned in Pakistan. We feel that will only harm Pakistan. Bhajrangi Bhaijaan has beaten Bin Roye in Pakistan but such competition will help our filmmakers make better movies in the future.
