Coke Studio has been known for paying tributes to musicians for a really long time. Whether it is Mehdi Hassan Khan sahab, Madam Noor Jehan, Saleem Raza, and that’s just this season. As we are going on in time, losing legends from our generation isn’t getting any easier. Many of our musical soldiers have fallen over the years and it hurts more every single time. From Junaid Jamshed to Ambaj Sabri and most recently, the maestro Aamir Zaki.
Coke Studio gave us the best present we could ask for today: Aamir Zaki being brought back to life in his last recorded performance
With his heart-wrenching guitar solo in the Javed Bashir and Akbar Ali song Naina Moray. The song itself is a rendition of a qawalli sung by the pioneer of classic fusion himself, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Sahab.
Aamir Zaki created magic with his guitar and made us miss him that much more
The legend plucked the strings with such effortless ease, like he’s done for so many years.

This song goes down in the list of his many masterpieces that will always keep his legacy alive

There is a whole generation of Pakistanis that only picked up the guitar to strum the chords for Mera Pyaar; who only got into music because of Aamir Zaki; who got the strength to pursue music because of the man. The teaser for the song that Coke Studio tweeted out earlier had Omran Shafique talking about how Aamir Zaki always stayed true to his music and never let anyone entice him with money to go against what he believed in. That was the motto for an entire generation. To believe in themselves and their music. And for that, we have Aamir Zaki to thank.
People can’t get over the brilliance of Aamir Zaki that shone through the song

The emptiness that Aamir Zaki's solo in Naina Moray has left behind in my heart will possibly never be filled. Rest in peace, genius.
