Fawad Khan has found himself in the middle of the internet’s venomous, self righteous religion-shaming.
Several Pakistanis also performed Hajj this year and Fawad Khan along with his wife was one of them. The actor’s absence from the movie premiere of Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2, where he had a guest appearance, was noted by many. Fans had been wondering why he didn’t make an appearance at the film’s premiers and turns out that the actor owing to his personal character stayed off-camera throughout his personal journey of Hajj and it was only realized that he performed Hajj after photos recently came out.
Fawad Khan’s photos attending a ceremony after Hajj hosted by King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and the Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman have gone viral on social media

“I’m honored to be representing 200 million Pakistanis in front of such a diverse audience and a nation that we love and highly respect,” he said in his speech at the closing ceremony.
“This was my first experience of Haj and I am happy to share that I take back great memories of it and I am extremely impressed with the professionalism of the entire security and government’s management for the remarkable services rendered to all pilgrims.”

As soon as people found out that he has performed Hajj, the first thing they noticed was Fawad Khan’s head full of hair – not shaved – not bald, like men who perform Hajj are commonly known to do in Pakistan
They took it upon themselves to criticize him and give away fatwas regarding his Hajj performance
While others came to his defense.
There were also people who became pissed off at the concept of a closing ceremony for Hajj
So we did some digging into religious scholars and their explanation regarding shaving one’s head for Hajj
In one of the speeches by Maulana Tariq Jameel, he explained the rituals of Hajj in detail. Also, he described the do’s and don’ts, the farz, and the sunnah.
Tariq Jameel explained that while shaving your head completely is the most preferable thing to do, cutting the hair short is also permissible.
Shaving your head completely or just getting it trimmed is a debate that goes differently in different schools of thought. Some consider it being mandatory while others know it to be a Sunnah. Nevertheless, religion is a personal matter between man and God – not to be discussed or dictated by any third person.
So there you have it, kids, Fawad Khan getting his head shaved or hair trimmed is a matter of his own choice, not anyone else’s. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
