Today would have been Nazia Hassan’s 53rd birthday. She truly was a pop icon and a music sensation. This year, for her birthday, Google made an amazing ‘Doodle’ to commemorate the event, and her.
Upon seeing this, Pakistanis took to Twitter to express their gratitude and love.

Google’s description of the Doodle makes the whole gesture all the more perfect. They describe her as Pakistan’s ‘pop sensation’, and they also add that their doodle aims to immortalize her.
“Our Doodle today imagines her performing with her famous flowing hair and dupatta (traditional Pakistani scarf), and the disco balls of the 80s glinting behind her.”
Oh, my heart!
It can’t be denied, Nazia Hassan was truly one of Pakistan’s best musical talents and there may not be one like her for a while. She took the nation by storm and won hearts, but she vanished too soon.
Rest in power Nazia!
