Season 8 of ‘Game of Thrones’ is going to be the last of the show. The season has, so far, featured some pretty jaw-dropping battle scenes, although they have been met with some disappointing plot lines. The show is known for having a high budget, given how high quality the production is. The next question about the show is then, of course, how much of this budget goes to the stars. Each actor puts in a lot of hours and time into making a convincing episode happen; from fight scenes to dragon riding.

According to many sources, some of our favorite characters are the ones who earn the most money.

The lead actors of the show earn about $500,000 per episode, this applies to both seasons 7 and 8. The actors cashing in this hefty cheque are Emilia Clarke, Kit Harrington, Lena Heady, Peter Dinklage, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

When the show began, these actors were all being paid $300,000 per episode, but this increased for the last two seasons given the more intense scenes that needed to be shot.

There’s a tier of actors below this as well.

Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner both earn about $150,000 per episode. Both the actors signed their contracts for the show while they were still ‘minors’, so contractually, the show still sees them that way and they cannot raise their pay.

Now if you compare this amount to other shows, you would be shocked to find out that this amount is not at the top. The lead actors for the ‘Big Bang Theory’ received cheques for $900,000 per episode and the leads for ‘Modern Family’ also rake in a cheque for $500,000 per episode for the hit comedy show.

That being said, the ‘Game of Thrones’ stars have made some serious money from playing some of our most favorite characters on TV. We cannot wait to see how the show ends.

Who’s your favorite character in the show? And who’s pay do you think needs to be drastically increased? Let us know in the comments 🙂
