Imran Ashraf really is a wonder. The actor has redefined our industry with his credible decision making in drama roles, crafting him into the best actor of our times. His character Bhola hit home for many, and it was the first time our dramas were attempting to stimulate discussion around mental health – a large taboo in Pakistan. Imran has been lauded for helping raise awareness around disorders like ASD, ADHD and Asperger’s Syndrome through Bhola.
A fan of Bhola and Imran, Muhammad made a touching video with his mother to thank the actor for shedding light on differently abled people.

The ‘Ranjha Ranjha Kardi’ actor recently went to Lahore to visit Muhammad and his family and accepted a beautiful award presented to him by Muhammad himself.
Imran was delighted and expressed how we must show more affection and acceptance towards differently abled people.
“Just met MUHAMMAD
Jahan mil kar shadeed khushi hoi
Wahan yeah jaan kar shadeed gham howa k hamaray muashray mein MUHAMMAD jaisay bachoon ki acceptance bohat bohat kam hai
Aur maa baap mushkil mein hein
Baitay ki wajha say nahi
Loogoon k bartaoo ki wajha say
In say pyar karein
Please
Regards
BHOLLAThis is real award.”
We reached out to Imran to ask him more about this beautiful meeting. He was very emotional and gave us insight into Muhammad and his family.
Imran had received many messages from countless families thanking him for Bhola, and Muhammad’s mother Sana Khan was one of them. She reached out to his brother and contacted Imran through him. Sana is the founder of the ‘Pakistan Autism Health Sciences & Research Foundation,’ a foundation dedicated to differently abled people.
Sana’s foundation has been named after her son, Syed Muhammad Shah and aims in “helping people, families and kids and adults with autistic disorders.”
Imran mentioned that Muhammad’s mother had undergone tremendous hardship, and was alienated by her own family for taking care of her children.
She had shockingly and rather disturbingly been entirely ostracized from society because of her son.
Imran was the recipient of an award by Muhammad and Sana, for his drama ‘Ranjha Ranjha Kardi’ as Bhola “for autism awareness.”
