We’d been talking and speculating about the exclusive, star-studded and the very, very cool Magnum Party for weeks and it finally happened last week.
OH MY GOD.
As if being around all the big names in the industry isn’t overwhelming enough, we were surprised by the sheer magnanimity of luxury: Everything was top-notch from the dresses, to the decor, to the chocolate, to the paintings, displays and did we mention chocolate?
Let’s start with the dresses.
Inspired by Dali, Surrealism and Chocolate, models strutted the runway in pieces that inspired more than what meets the eye. Ali Xeeshan’s capsule collection was the perfect representation of the artistes repertoire for the eccentric.
However, we need to talk about that gigantic rooster that has rather conveniently laid an egg on his shoulder.
Do we have chocolate to blame for things going slightly cuckoo?
Designer extraordinaire and perhaps the one that turned the most heads was Shamael Ansari.
The cuts, the frills, the unholy matrimony of fabric, silhouettes and technique, everything was exemplary.
Rabia Butt looked like she stepped right out of a dream.
Things only got bigger and better as Nilofer Shahid took the stage, in what seemed like a collection that was inspired by the good, the bad and the very, very naughty.

And a rather less experimental attempt was made by Faraz Mannan, but was enjoyable all the same.
The displays and painting were breathtaking.
This felt like the moving portraits at Hogwart’s.

Inspirations were borrowed from H. R. Giger and live props transformed the experience into something else.
And what about chocolate, you ask?
There was ample supply.
And it was all in the details.
There were live performances.

Ali Zafar’s live art was quite possibly everybody’s favorite from the evening.
Taking notes from experience, Ali resorted to theatrics to captivate the audience and topped it off with the masterful stroke of his paintbrush. A total crowd pleaser, that.

All that jazz, however, blurred, in comparison to the stars that walked the “chocolate brown carpet”
We saw Sarwat Gillani with Hubs Fahad Mirza.
Syra Shahroz minus the hubs.
Aamina Sheikh looking beautiful as ever.
Ali Zafar with his gorgeous wife made an appearance.
K town queen, Fareiha Altaf came wrapped up in a bubblegum pink bow.
Zara Peerzada was in her signature slay mode.
Tapu Javeri sure does clean up well.
In short, everybody who’s anybody made it a point to attend the Magnum Party.
Magnum Chocolate Party 2016 was the stuff of the movies – and we couldn’t help but gape at the show they put on. It was bigger and better than what we had predicted and we can’t wait to party with the stars next year.
Until then, me basically:
