As a woman in the industry, this is the kind of misogynistic bullcrap you can and do experience. How do you cope with it? Don’t ask me, I hyperventilate every time someone tweets something mean about me.

While it’s unfortunate that people still believe that actresses have a shelf-life, it’s also great to see the women in our industry defying those norms each day. Mahira’s name is just one on the roster of women who utilize their abundant talent and set the bar higher for the next batch of talent. The fact that they also take criticism in their stride is remarkable, but undue and unnecessary flak doesn’t really need to be tolerated, or perhaps, even dignified with a response.
