Things have been bad, recently. There have been many incidents of women stepping up and naming and shaming those who sexually harass them. That’s OBVIOUSLY not the bad part of it. Just the horrendous fact that there are women, all around the world, from all fields and walks of life that are facing harassment, both online and physical at the hands of predators. We barely just got out of the shock that is Asifa Bano, the news that was Khalid Bajwa, that we have singer/actress/judge Meesha Shafi standing up and claiming that Ali Zafar sexually harassed her
In a recent tweet, Meesha has laid it all down, to answer most of our questions
She wrote in absolute detail about what happened
She also spoke up about how difficult it is for women to break their silence over cases of harassment
She decided to speak up to set a precedent for women all across to use their voices too
The Hamid family is standing by Meesha in times of such difficulty
She went into detail about how it hadn’t only happened once, hadn’t happened when she was trying to get into the industry
And that if a woman like Meesha who is an ambassador of female strength and empowerment, can have this happen to her, nobody is safe, then, are they?
This is a developing story and we will update this piece as more information surfaces. We have reached out to both Meesha Shafi and Ali Zafar for comment on this
