Muniba Mazari was on the Women Can snapchat story celebrating International Women’s Day all over the world. The day commemorated all the brave women who have worked through the years overcoming domestic hurdles, societal pressures and glass ceilings.
Muniba spoke as United Nation’s woman Goodwill Ambassador to Pakistan
“Take the charge of your own life and tell people how strong you are.”
Last year, Muniba Mazari was appointed as a National Ambassador, expected to serve United Nations entity for gender equality and the empowerment of women to advance representative communities in Pakistan.
And we’re so proud of all that she has accomplished
Artist-activist-writer, singer and motivational speaker, Muniba Mazari met a life-changing car accident at the age of 21 but despite being wheelchair-bound, she continues to inspire women with her extraordinary resolve and will power. She was named the first wheelchair-bound model for the internationally acclaimed salons and products range, Toni&Guy in Pakistan, served as brand ambassador for The Body Shop in Pakistan and was listed as one of the Ponds Miracle Women.
‘Women Can’ campaign highlighted women all over the world, celebrities and otherwise, in order to champion girl power.
Women poured in with messages of hope and inspiration for girls all over the world.
Michelle Obama, First Lady of the United States of America
“Happy International Women’s Day. Join us as we celebrate the amazing contributions of women and girls world-wide. I know you’ll be as inspired as I am.”
Karlie Kloss, Fashion Model
“No matter if you’re walking cat-walks or writing lines of code, love what you do and be sure to be true to yourself.”
Lolo Jones, Olympian
“We still have a lot of things to overcome – equal pay, job opportunities, but we’re determined and we’re going to make it.”
Hoda Abdel-Hamid, War Correspondent
“I think that this year we should honour women refugees, here, and elsewhere.”
Dr. Erna Takazawa, Optometrist
“Thanks to my auntie, I now do something that I love to do, which is helping people.”
Lindsey Vonn, Olympic Athelete
“Let’s keep inspiring each other and keep making our lives better.”
Hari Nef, Actress and Model
“One piece of advice that I would give to young women is that you are enough, you don’t need anything else.”
Happy International Women’s Day, everyone. Let’s keep inspiring each other to do more and do better.
