Nadia Jamil spoke about the harrowing moment her family driver sexually assaulted her at the age of four in the latest sit-down with Samina Peerzada.
In one of the most heart-wrenching interviews yet, Nadia Jamil spoke about her memory of being abused at the age of four on ‘Rewind With Samina Peerzada.’
Nadia and Samina talked about the former’s pain-stricken childhood and difficult life following the moment her family driver sat her down in his lap and sexually molested her. The distressing moment changed Nadia’s life, to the point where the actress said she could no longer trust herself and spent a lifetime maintaining a distance from everyone around her.
The actress opened up about how clear she remembers the day until now, and how the memory continues to haunt her ever so often.
Nadia would often be jolted by a younger version of herself in her dreams, where she’d try and console her elder self. Nadia’s time in solitude was a series of introspective days for her – she tucked herself away into the serenity of Cambridge, England, where she’d also try and calm her epileptic fits (she has been suffering from epilepsy since childbirth).
This isn’t the first time Nadia has talked about her alleged abuse. The actress tweeted about it in a detailed commentary following the rise of the #MeToo movement in Pakistan.
When I sexually abused it ws by my Kari Sahab, my Driver & then by a highly educated elite families son. Now a happily married business man in London. It’s across the board. Men abuse across the board. My family still wants me to stay silent. But the shame IS NOT MINE! Never ever
