It is not the first time in this country that Pakistani women are being dragged in the fight between men. This is especially true for Pakistani politics.

We have witnessed this in the case of the race between PTI and PMLN. Reham Khan, Bushra Maneka, and  Maryam Nawaz; you name it. Each and every woman has been dragged into this dirty battle.

Journalist Umar Cheema did an “exclusive” story on the marriage of Imran Khan and Bushra Maneka

The story revealed that Bushra Maneka had not completed the period of iddat and married Imran Khan regardless. A person is not allowed to re-marry during the first 3 months after a divorce. Cheema claimed that Khan had gotten married earlier but because he wanted to retain the title of ‘Saadiq‘ and ‘Ameen‘, the family released pictures later to make it seem like the marriage happened at that time.

Many were rightfully outraged at the attack on a woman who is not a public figure and cannot defend herself due to it

As a result, a Twitter account by the name of Lubna Cheema tweeted the following:

The description of the account says that she is the daughter of Umar Cheema.

The account claimed that Umar impregnated his own daughter and refused to let her abort the child. She also claimed that leaving him and living away from his was the best decision ever.

Many are claiming that this is a response by PTI followers due to the attack on the recent marriage of Khan

However, it is extremely disappointing to see that these people who practice politics in the country and even those who write about it, just cannot stop themselves from maligning the women.

Why is it that whenever they try to denounce each other, they stoop down to the level of character assassination of the women? They feel that only if a woman is involved will it actually hurt the party and its image?
