When I think of the music scene in Pakistan, as someone who has a hard time keeping up with the same, one of the platforms that I’m thankful to for keeping me updated with fresh and relevant music is Pepsi Battle Of The Bands.

It’s crazy how Pepsi’s doing amazing things everywhere, you know? Whether it’s about representation (since we did see female band members and also, hello – Meesha Shafi was on the panel of judges) or about giving young talent an opportunity to showcase itself to the world on a gigantic platform – the brand is pretty hands-on, and that’s commendable for sure.

For someone like me, who’s barely into music, Pepsi Battle Of The Bands REALLY got me hooked and invested. The platform introduced us to bands like Aaroh, EP (love you, Fawad,) Kashmir and Bayaan. That’s no small feat. And honestly, look at how far the members and the bands have come.
For instance, Kashmir is easily one of the more popular bands in Pakistan now, and they’re usually at every high-profile event, doing their thing.

Entity Paradigm band has given us some extremely memorable songs and performances.

It also gave us Fawad Khan, my one true love.
Anyway, the point is, the huge platform has pushed many bands into becoming what they are. What Pepsi Battle Of The Bands has done is essentially take a bunch of talent and give it an audience – that, too, in stunning numbers. It’s led to an INSANE fan following for these bands and even album deals in some cases.
So why should people like you and I care? Well, obviously, pehli baat toh yeh hai ke people like you and I – the, uh, less musically inclined folks – we get some GREAT bangers out of it.
BUT, if you ARE musically gifted, there’s some GREAT news for you: The biggest music battle of Pakistan is back.
In fact, registration for the auditions of Season 4 is now open.
