Our beloved PM always ends up making headlines because of his famous slip of tongues. Previously, he had messed up some geographical concepts and ended up stating that Japan and Germany share a border. He once once attributed a Bengali poet’s quote to Khalil Jibran. Well, it looks like that another mix-up by Khan sahib has just caught the attention of many. Let us fill in you with the details of it.
While addressing members of the National Assembly today (without a mask, mind you), Prime Minister Imran Khan referred to Osama Bin Laden as shaheed
While shedding some light on the war of terrorism and the strained Pak-US ties, PM called Osama Bin Laden a martyr. In his own words, “Osama Bin Laden ko Americans nay Abbottabad main aa kay maar diya, shaheed kar diya.”
As soon as the clip of PM Imran Khan reached social media, it all blew up
People were naturally shocked that PM would refer to a world renowned terrorist as a ‘shaheed‘, which is a term of respect to refer to those who are no more, within the Muslim community.
It has become the top topic of conversation on Pakistani social media because of the sheer shock factor of the statement
A lot of people were ready with popcorns to enjoy the hilarious reactions by supporters of the PM in trying to defend the “slip of tongue”
Others reminded PM Imran Khan about the atrocities committed by Bin Laden which should disqualify him from being called a “shaheed”
Imran Khan was brutally criticized for his irresponsible statement by many
As expected a few supporters defended the PM by referring to this as a ‘slip of tongue’
People stated that this ‘slip of tongue’ has become a common routine for the PM
A few argued that it wasn’t a mere slip of tongue and Imran Khan needs to apologize for this comment about Osama Bin Laden
They also shared an old clip from 2016 to prove their point about PM Imran Khan and his stance on Osama Bin Laden
They mentioned that the PM has a ‘different’ stance on the laden issue and it can not be classified as a mere slip of tongue.
