Recently, Pakistani singer Quratulain Balouch found herself caught in a storm on social media.
This storm began when QB shared this tweet by AJ+…
…with THIS caption:
Now, the Ayesha Gullalai-Imran Khan controversy has been going on for a while. A woman spoke up about an incident of alleged harassment and everyone sided with the man involved. Of course, the man in question was Imran Khan. And humein hamare local supporters ka toh pata hee hai.
Before Khan’s supporters jumped in, one man pointed out how QB was about to be abused for her stance, to which she responded as well.
And boy, was he right. QB became the target of a whole lot of backlash.
Some of it was downright vulgar and obscene.
Others started pointing out everything Khan has done for the country.
Because that’s apparently supposed to take away from alleged harassment.
She lost some fans in the process.
She was called an attention seeker too.
Some people chose to abuse her. Because jab kuch nahi aata toh sirf gaali aati hai.
Khair, while she remained silent on Twitter, due to the expected backlash, she recently posted this image on Instagram.
Nothing too weird about the image, right? Just a casual photo, except QB looks 100% done with life.
However, let me repost that image with its caption.
And I’m going to go ahead and zoom right in because the message in the caption is super important.
Yep, you read that right. It clearly reads the following:
“Sugarcoating is a skill. I refuse to master that hypocrisy.”
While there is no direct message for Khan in this image, it seems like she’s calling out his loyal supporters.
The message is loaded and heavy. Firstly, QB is straight up telling everyone that she refuses to dial down her tone. She goes on to call sugarcoating a skill – one that she refuses to master due to it being synonymous with hypocrisy.
Did she basically just shut down Khan’s supporters, calling them hypocrites? It would seem so. Whatever the meaning of the message may be, it’s clear that Quratulain Balouch is unapologetic and refuses to hold back when stating how she really feels.
What do you think about this? Is this a message for Khan and his followers? Let us know in the comments.
