Whenever you go to a restaurant there is this feeling that the staff is secretly observing your every action. You get the feeling that they somehow know the contents of your wallet just by looking at your expressions and are constantly judging you for it. You might even have gone to a place and felt you weren’t invited, especially if you’re not someone from a very comfortable background.

This one eatery in Lahore called Meat Ex, is showing immense generosity in a world that’s generally lacking in empathy

The restaurant has a “tab with Allah” for people who don’t have the means to pay for food

To put it simply, you can get a free meal regardless the contents of your wallet. This charitable venture initiated by Meat Ex has actually been in place since the last two years.

According to a Meat Ex representative, unlike other places, the restaurant doesn’t just hand leftover food to those in need, it gives them the full restaurant experience

Moreover, the restaurant also engages in multiple charitable ventures, like helping those suffering from mental health issues.

Meat Ex organizes a free lunch for patients at Fountain House mental health facility in Lahore.  Not only are they offered free meals but they’re also included in the whole barbecuing activity, wherein all of them help in grilling the food and work with one another.

There are others who use their businesses for helping the people

Like this vegetable vendor who keeps his shop open all night and lets people take whatever vegetables they need and paying later.

It’s great to see businesses like these doing communal outreach. We hope to see more places doing similar initiatives.
