Shah Rukh Khan will be the first Bollywood actor to return to Pakistani cinemas since the ban on Bollywood.

Shah Rukh Khan has had a last rough couple of films.

The once crowned ‘King-Khan’ announced a due semi-hiatus from films after consecutive flops at both the box office, and in the eyes of critics who all admitted that this could be it for him. Shah Rukh recently revealed in an interview in April that he has no films in the pipeline; later it was also announced that the actor will no longer be a part of ‘Don 3’ anymore – he was replaced by Ranbir Kapoor.

While Shah Rukh Khan has still not announced a Bollywood film, we’ll be able to relish a King Khan film soon.

One of the most anticipated Disney remakes of the year, ‘The Lion King’ will be releasing in Pakistan, as will the Hindi-dubbed version. The Hindi dubbed version has Shah Rukh Khan lending his voice for Mufasa, with his son Aryan essaying Simba.

Here’s the trailer for Shah Rukh Khan as Mufasa.

It’s a relief to see Shah Rukh Khan return to the silver screen, be it so in an animated film. Let’s hope his downfall is followed by a swift flight back to the stars.
