This falooda from Islamabad has caused mass hysteria.
We Pakistanis sure do take our meetha very seriously. No matter how full we are after dinner, some how the mere mention of meetha will spike our appetite. It’s like there is a separate digestive organ in all desis that is only meant for desserts. Not only do we crave for meetha all the time, we also get really sentimental about it. Especially when it comes to local stuff. Falooda being one of them of course, can bring the best and worse in us. You simply do not mess with Falooda.
Well, clearly the people responsible for this abomination didn’t get the memo
Famous television news personality Ajmal Jami shared this image on his Twitter two days ago and ever since, Pakistanis can’t stop outraging over this monstrosity.
Guess what exactly is this? Yes! In #Islamabad they believe it's #Faloodah…!!
Holly……!!

Is this actually supposed to be Falooda? It’s more pasta than Falooda if you ask me. It’s like instant noodles with clearly cut canned mushrooms. To some, it may also appear as white rice with milk chocolate. Either way, it’s something completely different from Falooda.
Given the cultural relevance of Falooda, people were unhappy to say the least.
Some proposed that those responsible be given physical punishment.
Iss bande nu marro 10 jutiyan te ginno ek Jerra falooda di be-izzati karr riya ee

Then there were those who couldn’t accept it as Falooda and saw it as a whole different food group

With CPEC in full force, I guess this could be possible that this was a Chinese influenced falooda

The falooda in question was reportedly acquired at a place known as Jameel Sweets in Islamabad
We understand that the image of the questionable ‘Falooda’ may have caused trauma to certain members of our audience.
We apologize and accept full responsibility for that so as to make up for it here’s a picture of what falooda is supposed to look like:
You’re welcome.
