This falooda from Islamabad has caused mass hysteria

We Pakistanis sure do take our meetha  very seriously. No matter how full we are after dinner, some how the mere mention of meetha will spike our appetite. It’s like there is a separate digestive organ in all desis that is only meant for desserts. Not only do we crave for meetha all the time, we also get really sentimental about it. Especially when it comes to local stuff. Falooda being one of them of course, can bring the best and worse in us.  You simply do not mess with Falooda.

Well, clearly the people responsible for this abomination didn’t get the memo

Famous television news personality Ajmal Jami shared this image on his Twitter two days ago and ever since, Pakistanis can’t stop outraging over this monstrosity.

Is this actually supposed to be Falooda? It’s more pasta than Falooda if you ask me. It’s like instant noodles with clearly cut canned mushrooms. To some, it may also appear as white rice with milk chocolate. Either way, it’s something completely different from Falooda.

Given the cultural relevance of Falooda, people were unhappy to say the least.

Some proposed that those responsible be given physical punishment.

Then there were those who couldn’t accept it as Falooda and saw it as a whole different food group

Like it would’ve had made a difference if it was cooked

With CPEC in full force, I guess this could be possible that this was a Chinese influenced falooda

When you are not sure if it’s chotee eid or bari eid

This could actually work

Our velayati brothers, on the other hand, still considered it way better than what they are used to having

The falooda in question was reportedly acquired at a place known as Jameel Sweets in Islamabad
