Something that we have all heard at least once from our adults. Be it your mother, grandmother, or grandma’s mom, they all have one superstition in common; mirrors.

WHY MIRRORS? WHAT SUPERNATURAL?

Mirrors are deemed to be the gateway to the unknown. In movies, dramas, theatre, and psychic personals, they all ask you to stay away from mirrors. Not knowing the unknown is a terrifying experience and it all enhances when you are superstitious from the beginning. 

A big role of movies is played in the strengthening of legends. Showing another ‘world’ and a whole new reality on the other side of the mirror is one of the leading causes for people in western society to stay away from mirrors or unearthly things that could cause a tingling in the spine. 

Nevertheless, these are the reasons why we think you should not stare in the mirror for too long.

1. PORTAL FOR JINNS

We, as humans, like to look at ourselves. We tend to feel pretty and loved only if we look appealing to the eyes. What if you’re not the only one looking at yourself? What if someone else is looking at you through the ‘portal’?

2. EXPERIENCING THE UNSEEING

It is no secret that the longer you stare into the mirror, the more ugly you feel. What if there was a deeper meaning behind this. For all we know, your subconscious is sensing a supernatural being around you and is making you feel uneasy. 

3. FALLING IN LOVE

Desi moms love to scold their daughters for wearing too much makeup or perfume. Jinns love that shit, they love to be with humans who dress up nice and who look satisfactory to the eye. 

4. POSSESSION 

If a jinn falls in love with you, it will do everything in its power to make you theirs. Be it a jinn or a jinni, they will be as near as they can be.

5. MIRRORS AND BATHROOMS

Ever wondered why the bathrooms used to be so far away from the house in the old times? Maybe they were onto something. Jinns have a special connection with the bathroom, you could call it a gateway to their home. Be careful the next time you’re butt naked in there.
