Usain Bolt, the fastest man on Earth, just cemented his status as the human cheetah. He won the 200 meter race in the Olympic Games in Rio and has become the first athlete ever to win three back-to-back gold medals in 100 meter race as well as the 200 meter race.
He is the current World Champion and the only person to win six gold medals for sprinting
Bolt is an eleven time World Champion and has set record times for both, the 100 meter sprint at 9.58 seconds and for the 200 meter sprint at 19.19 seconds. He made both these world records in 2009.
At the Olympics, he has said that he is the greatest
“I’ve proven to the world I’m the greatest. This is what I came here for. That’s what I’m doing. This is why I said this is my last Olympics — I can’t prove anything else,” Bolt said after winning a race and before announcing his retirement.
The world’s fastest man is a HUGE fan of cricket
In his early years, Usain Bolt, who hails from Trelawney, a small town in Jamaica, started out by playing cricket. He was initially interested in joining the West Indies cricket team when he grew up but his cricket coach saw the young man’s running speed and suggested that Bolt try out in sprinting.
And especially Team Pakistan
His favorite player is Waqar Younis and he has called Pakistan cricket team ,”my team”. Oh yes, the world’s fastest man bleeds green.
Here’s the interview where he sings praises for Team Pakistan
It may not be THAT big a deal but it does give us something to feel closer to the world’s fastest man.
