March 27, 2016 was a dark day for Pakistan. After the breaking of news that Junaid Jamshed was beaten at the Islamabad airport in the very early hours of the day (or night, rather), there was the news that Islamabad became a hub for supporters of Mumtaz Qadri to gather for a sit-in (which is still going on, at the time of publishing). However, as the day winded down Lahore was rocked by a tragedy of grave proportions. More than 70 people were brutally massacred while out at the Gulshan e Iqbal park on Easter Sunday, most were women and children. There are still more than 300 who are injured, many in serious condition.
As the extent of the tragic holiday massacre became clear, Pakistanis were stunned, horrified and flocking to help their fellow countrymen in any way they could.
