When I clicked on Zaid Ali’s video regarding his YouTube income, I didn’t expect it to be a super fun Q and A. Honestly, I thought it’ll be a random breakdown of his financials and I was like, “Eh, do I really care?” (I did). However, straight off the bat, when I started watching the video, I was hooked.

Before anything else, let me point out that Yumna and Zaid’s banter is equal parts adorable and hilarious.

It’s wholesome, it’s respectful and I love how Yumna frustrates Zaid so much that his Pakistani accent becomes really evident. Honestly, it’s worth watching. Also, Yumna is a complete cutie. Love her.

Anyway, the Q and A contained some…controversial and “chat patta” questions, as Zaid pointed out. For instance, someone asked them about the color of their poop.

Yumna obliged and answered, prompting Zaid to yell, “Bas kardo yaar, next question”  in disgust.

Yumna struggled with Urdu…

…prompting Zaid to look at her like this.

Yumna also tried to sing an Indian song which she got very, VERY wrong.

Someone asked about whether Yumna gets jealous when Zaid works with other girls.

People even asked them to weigh in about PM Imran Khan.

However, the most interesting bit was when Zaid Ali was asked about his YouTube income. He shared a ballpark figure.

Basically, if you do the math with the current conversion rate, Zaid earns anywhere between Rs 272,153 and Rs 4,402,475 from YouTube. And that’s without factoring in sponsored deals or any other money on the side.

I…don’t know how or why – my brain can’t even process the numbers – but I’m just very happy for him. He’s about to hit 2 million subscribers, he’s pretty much grown up in front of the audience and for him to reach this level of success is great. It shows how you don’t just have to be a doctor or engineer. Follow your heart, pursue your passion and success will follow. At least, in some cases.

Zaid also encouraged people to start becoming content creators on YouTube. He believes that we have nothing to lose and a lot to gain, which is true. Worth a shot, right?

Also, I found out that his aunt has a YouTube channel with A LOT of subscribers. Guess it runs in the family.

You can watch the whole video here:

Let me know if you found this as cute as I did, or if you want to switch careers and start vlogging. As Zaid said in the video, you have nothing to lose and a lot to gain.
