Asifa, the 8 year old who was gang raped and murdered in India, recently, was the most trending porn search in Pakistan this morning. Let the words sink in.

We might come out in great numbers to pay lip service and show social media outrage over sexual abuse of innocent children but for many this has become a source of entertainment

For those of you who do not know, Asifa Bano was an eight year old girl. She was kidnapped and gang raped by 8 men in a temple in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK). Her body was later found in a forest on January 17. She was kept in confinement was several days, the men would sedate her and rape her again and again. When they were finally done with her, they dumped her mutilated body in the forest. She was severely tortured. Her legs were broken, her nails were black and there was blue and reds marks on her arms and fingers.

Two of the men involved in the crime were police officers. This incident was their way of threatening the Muslim community into leaving the area. Which is why several Hindu nationalists right now are trying to cover up the incident and protecting the culprits by justifying the act by Hindu nationalism.

Many people have come out to protest on both sides of the border. Pakistanis are saying that Asifa Bano is our Zainab and we stand together against such crimes

But who are these cruel beings who would like to watch an innocent child being violated at the hands of animals? Have we forgotten our own Zainab? Or did the same reaction follow after her story came to the forefront?

Porn sites are banned in Pakistan and need to accessed via a proxy. This particular website (xvideos.com) shows trending results related to Pakistan.

Also notice “Stepsister”, “Brazzer mom”, “Desi small boy” and “Taboo mom” as other top trending search terms for people who’re looking for porn in Pakistan. Does this not reveal the disgusting mindset of a sexually frustrated country that has no access to actual avenues for releasing their pent up tension that they go on searching for incestual, pedophilic porn?

This search result shows one inherent aspect about these people

And that is that they cannot differentiate between porn and rape. Any and everything which involves intercourse, even if it is coerced and someone loses their life because of it, is entertainment for them. There is absolutely no regard for human life because what matters is the fact that some people enjoy watching others being brutally raped and that has become their source of entertainment.

Do we go ahead and assume that these individuals are also okay with rape?

And with that assumption, do we also assume that for them to indulge in such a behaviour will not require a second thought? Why is there such little concern for human life. And what makes someone think that because they enjoy something, they can force themselves on others? This is the same line of thought which results in violation of human bodies and victim shaming.

While yes, these results can be because of a few perverted people who may not represent the country as a whole but does that justify someone wanting to look at a child or anyone being raped to release their sexual frustration?

We as a nation do not want to talk about consent, we do not want to talk about rape, and we certainly are grossed out when we mention the human body but we are not grossed out when we look at such stuff?

It is ok to not talk about these things because we are too “pakeeza” but it is ok to let these monsters roam free? Humanity should be above everything in the world. And if the people of a country do not realize that, it means that they have not been sensitized.

Our focus is always on not discussing things because we feel ashamed but how will we create awareness if we do not talk to people?

UPDATE: The search word ‘Asifa’ no longer appears on the website. We contacted xvideos.com to confirm if they actively took down the search term and this is what they had to say.
