Pakistani women are nothing short of phenomenal. Time and again, we see women doing incredibly brave things. And now, we have these badass female bikers driving that point home.

Meet the Rowdy Riders.

The Rowdy Riders is essentially an all-female biker club.

These women take to the streets, reclaiming public spaces in the process.

The club was initiated by Marina Syed, who is known to perform death-defying stunts.

Marina also leads a school that teaches women how to ride bikes, since there aren’t many institutes that do so in the first place. Through this school, Marina has provided her pupils with an opportunity to learn, grow and become just as confident as she is.

However, this isn’t even the first time that the club is being talked about.

They were previously in the news when the girls decided to set about reclaiming public spaces by traveling from Karachi to Kashmir.

Their Facebook page is flooded with pictures of them being the absolute badasses that they are…

…casually shattering stereotypes in the process.

Just female bikers being awesome.

When we talk about women empowerment in today’s world, we hope to see women who feel this brave, confident and safe when leaving their homes. It’s wonderful to see how Marina and her girls are each others’ safe havens.

Undoubtedly, the club seems immensely supportive.

Moreover, it captures the essence of feeling free in a society that insists that you be bound.

We wish these female bikers all the best for the future. Moreover, we pray for their safety and well-being. Here’s hoping they keep shattering stereotypes. Additionally, we hope they inspire and empower other women to do the same.
