Hina Bayat is truly one of her kind. She’s played a whole range of diverse characters, and play she did! She’s set the bar for actresses of not just her own generation, but across ages. Here are some of the times she was a proper legend, both on screen and off!

1. When she was the epitome of sab kuch bardasht karnay wali Pakistani aurat in Aunn Zara

A simple, Urdu-speaking woman, who stuck around her in-laws’ house, in spite of the fact that her husband cheated on her by marrying another woman and settling abroad. Her dialogue delivery and expressions are beyond excellence.

2. When like every ammi she prayed for Raheel Sharif

3. When she was the perfectly struggling mom as a qasai ki biwi

A woman from an old muhalla in the suburbs of town who endlessly tries to provide her daughter with the best quality of life, by ensuring she gets a good education and establishes a career. She adopts a whole different facade in Sanam, as she tries to act ‘modern’, while letting her roots shine through.

4. When she sang praises for TV son Osman Khalid Butt

6. When she loved her daughter despite her not-so-good actions in Humsafar

While a lot of us thought of her role as the antagonist, on delving further into her character it turns out that she had no negative part to play in Farida Auntie’s evil schemes to get rid of Khirad. She ended up losing a lot more than any character in the series, and she made us feel every bit of it.

7. When she just wanted love to prevail

8. And the she s-laaaayed in Mor Mahal

9. When she finally perfected her selfie game

10. When she was as sick of VIP culture like everyone and couldn’t help but rant

11. And finally with her ~STELLAR~ performance in Dil Banjaara

I have not yet come across anyone who has not been at a loss for words at the incredible performance Hina Bayat has put up in the ongoing series Dil Banjaara. She plays a mentally challenged woman, facing age regression, a mother, a wife, and a daughter in law. Her lovable character outshines everyone else on screen, and there is not a single second where she lets her guard down or loses character, and there is not a single scene where you don’t fall more in love with her.
