After the near death experience in Swat on October 9 (2012), Malala Yousafzai woke up in a different country among different people. In a recent interview with David Letterman, she said that she does not remember much about the shooting itself. She remembers going to school and chatting with her friends, and then later waking up in the United Kingdom (UK). Malala probabaly misses her homeland dearly. The views of the Swat Valley are not something that the busy life of Birmingham offers.
Ever since she moved there, she has been wanting to go back for quite a while. However, the incident itself was so controversial that travelling back involved a lot of risk. Life threatening risk. But the place which motivated her, which made her dream and realize the need to work for women’s education is not something you do not visit for the rest of your life.
It is now being reported that Malala is arriving in Islamabad tonight

According to some eerily specific sources, she’s arriving on flight EK 614 from Dubai (which is about to land as at the time of publication). She will be staying for a total of four days in the country. And during this visit, she will be meeting Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and other senior government functionaries.
Pakistanis are over the moon and ready to welcome this daughter of the nation
They realize the risk she is undertaking by making this visit. Some cynics have always pointed out her lack of return to the country without understanding the danger involved in it. This is a huge statement that she’s making for those who doubt her dedication and love for the country. Her well-wishers are definitely worried about her safety too but of course, if such a trip has been planned; proper security measures must have been taken to ensure that everything goes according to the plan.
#Malala coming home.
