This was a good week in cricket. Pakistan cricket team at Lord’s performed beyond all expectations and broke a few records while they were at it. Some of the highlights of the #PAKvEng test series include Misbah’s century, all thanks to the mystical powers of the beard and celebrating in style with the Misbah press-up challenge. #TenForMisbah

Since Pakistanis love cricket almost as fiercely as they love desi pop, we decided to present to you the Pakistani cricket team as seen in Pakistani pop culture references:

1. Misbah: Rohail Hyatt’s career

Despite performing par excellence most times, there are always some haters out there who target them when bored.

It is our moral duty to ignore them at all cost.

2. Younis Khan: Mekaal Hasan Band

Beautiful yet sometimes, a bit of everything altogether might be overwhelming.

And there seems to be a consistent undertones of issues with establishment.

3. Azhar Ali: Zeb & Haniya

They’re really good at what they do but tend to disappear every now and then.

4. Shan Masood: Uzair Jaswal

Word has it that he’s worth your while but there is absolutely no confirmation. Ouch!

5. Mohammad Hafeez: Junoon’s “Dewaar”

Kicking off with high hopes, a few delectable performances here and there paired with a whole bunch of why-are-you-doing-this.

6. Asad Shafiq: Zohaib Kazi

Has been in the sidelines producing massive hits but many are oblivious to this. Mad technical knowledge.

7. Sarfraz Ahmed: Dr Aur Billa

The power of comic relief is strong with them, massive entertainment value.

8. Wahab Riaz: Faraz Anwar

The passion speaks for itself, you can feel the magnetism. One notable weakness seriously overshadows talent.

9. Yasir Shah: Junoon’s “Parvaaz”

10. Amir: Noori’s “Begum Gul Bakaoli Sarfarosh”

A bit short of what was promised, impudent and cheeky. Ultimately, a pleasant experience.

11. Rahat: Strings’ “Dhaani”

Consistency is admirable but often denied credit when it’s due.
