Slowly and surely, the awareness about breast cancer in Pakistan is increasing. A lot of women are coming forward with their stories to make people realize how common it is. Of course, there is stigma attached to the idea of discussing private parts. However, it is a disease which takes away life and must be talked about.

 

Sexually transmitted diseases and breast cancer are two of the most common diseases in women in Pakistan.

Last year, Pink Ribbon collaborated with the Government of Pakistan, and National History and Literary Heritage Division to celebrate “Pinktober”

Jinnah’s mausoleum was illuminated pink raise awareness about the cancer. It is one of the most places in Pakistan which people consider the most sacred.

In a continuation of the same effort, Minar-e-Pakistan was also illuminated, earlier

Minar-e-Pakistan also holds a lot of significance in the lives of Pakistanis.

 

The same effort was revived this year by illuminating two buildings of Pakistan, each carrying a lot of significance.

Here’s the question all these salty people are making us ask

 

It is a great initiative on part of the government. If they take the initial steps of removing this stigma, it will have a trickle down effect on the public as well.
