Salmaan Taseer was the late Governor of Punjab murdered by his own guard for allegedly committing blasphemy. The allegations against Taseer were raised after he campaigned for the release of Asia Bibi, a Christian woman imprisoned and awarded capital punishment on false grounds of blasphemy.
